I watched the competition of cicibans and youth categories after I joined the technical meeting on July 31, 2008. In this stape we rest a lot. This is the first time that such a big organization in Turkey. There are 2 categories lead and speed, and 140 climbers from 7 different countries joined this competition.
There are 2 routes for lead category quarter finals on August 2, 2008.I finished first route but I fell from the same hold with doing the same mistake as others did.
I was the 6th climber on overall ranking and I qualified to the final tour as the only Turkish climber in final tour.
On the last day of competition, August 3, 2008. I started final tour with a good motivation. I reached the half of the wall in a good climbing. I felt from the hold on the overhanging part with doing dyno and I and I couldn’t catch the good part of hold. We have to return back to semi final tour because the other 3 climbers fell down at the same hold.
Finally I finished the competition as 3rd, I feel proud for me and my country.
I qualified to the finals in speed category. I was eliminated because I lost a lot time in the first tour of finals. I finished this category as 6th.
I’m sure I could do better both in these categories but you know, competitions are always like this. You couldn’t do that in that moment but you always talking about it.
